Isaac Ezban's Time-Travel Movie ‘Delivery’: A Sci-Fi Road Trip Across Borders (2026)

Isaac Ezban's Time-Travel Road Movie: A Personal Journey Through Time and Space

Mexican filmmaker Isaac Ezban is gearing up for his most ambitious project yet, a time-travel road movie titled "Delivery." This film, co-written by Ezban and Christian Cueva, is a deeply personal exploration of a man's journey through time and space, both literal and metaphorical. It's a story that delves into the contrasts of our existence, the passage of time, and the borders we create in our relationships.

The film follows Adan, a lonely truck driver who has spent decades driving along the Mexico-U.S. border, obsessed with listening to the cassettes his father recorded for him as a child. When Adan is fired from his trucking company, he embarks on a reckless plan to steal the truck and drive as long as the road allows, crossing borders and listening to all the cassettes. Along the way, he meets Nokia, a young teenager who has been abandoned in a border town and dreams of crossing the border to reunite with her family.

Ezban describes "Delivery" as his most personal project, a screenplay he's been developing since 2019. He's excited about the Eficine tax incentive in Mexico, which has helped the movie become a reality, and his selection at Frontières to pitch the project and find the rest of the funding. The film is co-produced by Red Elephant Films and Sin Sentido Films, with a significant portion already funded.

At first glance, "Delivery" might seem like an elaborate road movie or a time-travel story, but Ezban emphasizes that it's much more than that. It's a story about the contrasts of our existence: planning versus spontaneity, routine versus adventure, solitude versus socialization, the company of another person versus the company of a memory, living in the past versus living in the present. It's the story of a man who never belonged to his own time.

The Mexico-U.S. border serves as the perfect setting for this story, exploring the borders we create in our relationships with others. Ezban continues to explore the passage of time, loneliness, and time paradoxes, using the endless highway as a backdrop. The film promises to be a thought-provoking journey through time and space, a personal exploration of a man's relationship with his past, present, and future.

Ezban's unique approach to storytelling and his ability to weave complex themes into a compelling narrative make "Delivery" a highly anticipated project. As the film progresses towards production, audiences can look forward to a deeply personal and captivating journey through time and space, a testament to Ezban's talent and vision as a filmmaker.
